About me

Hi! I am Maël Hanet, a french recording and mixing engineer and sound designer currently studying a MSc Audio Production at The University Of Salford. Through this blog, I share my passion about sound design for film and video games. Here is a link to my portfolio.

I came to the UK at 18 years old in 2013 with the aim to learn about audio engineering and music production. After completing a Music Production & Music business Diploma at “SEM” (School of Electronic Music), I have developed skills in audio engineering by assisting the audio engineer and producer Paul Hutchinson in the “North West Recording Studio” between 2015-2016.

I also assisted at prestigious recording studio “La Fabrique” over a period of two and a half months (February to April 2015) during Foals’ “What Went Down” album recording. At “La Fabrique”, I also attended two “Mix With The Master” seminars presented by Steve Albini (audio engineer for Nirvana, The Pixies, PJ Harvey) and Eddy Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Kiss).

Working with Maël in the studio was a great experience. He is a very friendly person and a Tech ‘wiz’ on Pro Tools, quick and efficient.
